Inspired by my friend Morten's notes of a second-rate poet (in both English and Danish) I realise that War is the perpetual plague of the human race, always there, always moving from place to place, and always with the same message: Here's where the story ends.

The political commissars of the Communist party were instructed to organize groups of partisans if the area they operated in was occupied by the enemy. Partisans and other groups who continued fighting after their country was occupied were not classified as troops by the 1929 Geneva Convention which meant they were not covered by the convention.
