Well, today would have been my mum's 70'th birthday, this glassball was presented to her by some close Norwegian friends after a visit in the fifties. My mum's name "Solveig" was of Norwegian origin and has been cast into the ball.

My mum died from cancer of the uterus, something probably caused by her injections with an radioactive substance in the sixties (this was before nuclear awareness...)
She had accepted this treatment to cure her problems with having a pregnancy.

The injections worked and led to the birth of Me™, but forty years later the treatment unfortunately also killed her.

A toast to all the brave moms of this world!

Czeslaw Slania 1921-2005.

One of my childhood heroes, this remarkable engraver died March 22'nd after creating over a 1000 stamps, banknotes for both Canada, Argentina and the Vatican and many other things.

I often admired his miniature masterpieces and dedicated craftmanship when I collected stamps as a boy.

From Stuart, man of T-melt comes the "musical batong" which is about posting the following info on your blog:

Total volume of music on my computer:
Approx. 5.5 Gb.

Last CD I bought:
No pussyfooting - Brian Eno/ Robert Fripp (Not received from Amazon yet..)

Song playing right now: "Groovesalad" (ambient/chilly beats streamed radio on the web, this is what I listen to most of the time)

5 songs that I listen to a lot or mean something to me:

I'll be your mirror - The Velvet underground
Music for Airports - Brian Eno (not a song, but the whole album is sorta like one long song...)
Surfin' bird - The Ramones (actually a cover of the original by The Thrashmen)
Rebel Rebel - David Bowie
Telephasic workshop - Boards of Canada

And now the batong goes to: NSOP?

"With an thunderous roar, The Emperor headed for the astroport aboard his speedy craft.
Below, the peaceful inhabitants of Cuddlytown, Smalldonia marveled at the sight of the powerful imperial vessels and thought to themselves: Oh, we lucky few!"
