TV image altered by the use of a large magnet, 1963

RIP Nam June Paik 1932-2006

The grandfather of Video-art has died.
Noted for inventing the type of endless image-flow that is commonplace in today's television on channels like MTV and CNN, Paik's work was often years ahead of his time. In an age when many considered art to have reached the end of its possibilities, he created the whole new genre of video- and TV-art and provided inspiration for countless music videos and TV shows.
