Dean Martin (1917-1995) would have been ninety years old today.

Dubbed "the coolest man who ever lived" by Playeboy magazine, I remember his off beat shows aired on Danish television back in the seventies. They served somehow as an antidote to much of the stuffed workers' shirt Marxism of the day, since nothing could be further away from that than "Dino" in his tux, drink in hand, on a glittering stage presenting a parade of celebrities and babes interrupted by a bit of world class crooning and some raunchy jokes.

The young men sitting on the radio aerial are members of the Hitler Youth who were primed for service in Germany's armed forces by visiting barracks and other facilities to receive a display of the fun and excitement of military life.
Not my people
