Nazi art week, today with Hans Steinhoff 1882-1945

Steinhoff directed the early Nazi film Hitlerjunge Quex (1933), a romantic tale of the Hitler Youth.

Adhering strictly to the guidelines for film making laid out by the ministry of propaganda, Steinhoff became a protege of Joseph Goebbels but was very unpopular with his crews. The film star Hans Albers once described him as "...the greatest asshole of this century..."

Despite his close affiliations with the Nazi state he apparently had no intentions of going down with it, as he died in one of the last aircraft to leave Nazi Germany (It was shot down on the way to Spain)

What's up at YouTube: The end scene in Hitlerjunge Quex
Hitler youth member Heini Völker is murdered by the communists, but before he dies he visions the future of Germany with Nazi stormtroopers marching to victory.

(For those with further interest in viewing Third Reich cinema, most of it can be found at this site)
Retro Babe
There was no room for seedy "french postcards" in the Nazi world but the naked body could be secretly appreciated if it was associated with healthy outdoors activities.
Panzer Sturmgeschutz III, Ausf C.
For those who have not yet tired with this series, another shot of a stug...
(unfortunately) Also my people
(regrettably) Also my war
