Well, this is what's left of the stuff I had up in the attic...

One unexpected outcome though: I made some drawings ten years ago when I taught drawing at a center for disabled people. I haven't been able find them for years, but apparently I had placed them at the bottom of a wooden box with a lot of junk on top. The junk and most of the box turned into ashes in the fire, meaning that the drawings reappeared! - and were (almost...) untouched by the fire.

Fully furnished!..

Relocated - in Østerbro! a part of Copenhagen sometimes described as "...geriatric gloom with a touch of pre-Glasnost Stockholm..."

But the apartment I've been allocated comes completely refurbished and has everything:

Flat screen TV, CD player, washing machine, dish washing machine, plates, glasses and cutlery, towels, bedlinen, cleaning utensils, ironing board.

There was even a small gift and welcome note on the kitchen table!

But,

ONE thing had been overlooked,

one thing was missing...

Toilet paper

Lennard Grahn - Hotelling it like it is.

It's nice living in an Hotel for a couple of days - TV, wireless Internet, and somebody cleaning your room every day.

Still, when I walk down those long hallways to the elevator, I keep expecting Jack Nicholson to show up with an axe!

My apartment is now completely empty!

Everything was put in storage by the insurance company, except for some clothes and personal things I brought with me to the Hotel.

The apartment needs to be dried, cleaned, repaired and painted - it will take three to four months before I can return...

Traces of someone living in the attic was found a few months ago (together with "junkie paraphernalia") The Police are looking for a couple not residing in the building which were seen leaving through the back entrance just before the fire. The administrator of the building had checked the back entrance doors on the day of the fire, which were all locked.

So maybe the nice people who set fire to the roof have a key...

Well, last night someone managed to set fire to the roof of the building I live in!

According to the Police the fire was not caused by faulty electrics or similar.

Luckily nobody got hurt, and I've got insurance, but it will be at least three months before I can live in my apartment again due to damages from water (I live on the fourth floor)

I was up there today to collect a few things and It doesn't look like any of my stuff was damaged. It's mostly the ceilings, walls and floors that suffered. My insurance company has set me up in a hotel for the next couple of days until they can provide me with an apartment, so I guess everything will be ok.

Yes, it's another crack show from that old artster Lennard Grahn!

This time it's not in a basement next to the toilets, but in a WINDOW at that renowned second hand bookstore on Vesterbro: Antikvariat 2B

Exibited work will be painting, drawing and video - viewable around the clock:

November 24, 2008 - January 3, 2009.

It looks like the two crewmen are applying winter camouflage to the Tiger. Whitewash was normally used, since it could be easily removed when spring arrived and the panzer's original paint job was needed again.

Another week coming up in the Protestant-Liberalist-Socialist work family called Denmark.

Let's start our day by singing the Corporate Anthem:

If you don't work, we don't like you
And if we don't like you, you can't get a job.

If you're not like us, we don't like you
And if we don't like you, you can't be like us.

If you step out of line, we don't like you
And if we don't like you, you're always out of line.

We're happy here!
We're happy here!
And when we're not, we'll drink more beer!

(sung with the voices of the Three Little Pigs)

Note the turret numbers which are in the "800" series. This was common in the early part of WWII when the Panzer IV was still classified as a heavy tank and usually placed in the "last" companies of panzer regiments, meaning vehicles numbered 7xx or 8xx.

A 1938 proposal for skyscrapers in Hamburg

What could possibly be more wonderful that the over sized neo-classicist architecture of the Third Reich? (1970's Japanese sexploitation movies featuring nuns and samurais comes to mind, but we'll save that for later...)

One man who could deliver on that (the architecture, not the nuns & samurais) was Erich Zu Putlitz

The "Befehls" (command) versions of panzers were produced for regimental and battalion commanders who needed long-range radio equipment in order to communicate with Division or Army Corps staffs. You can just make out the "bedstead" type antenna placed on the rear deck of the panzer, behind the turret. Judging from the architecture of the houses in the background this panzer is part of the German effort to liberate Russia from itself.
